Rocksteady Studios’ Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launched over a month ago and hasn’t seen the success developers had hoped for. The game has been plagued with issues since its release, and it’d have been expected that things would be better by now, but they aren’t.
Players are still facing problems with multiplayer and online connection, which is a necessity to play the game, and the situation is only worsening for Rocksteady Studios as Sony is now providing refunds for the game via the PlayStation Store, which is a first after Cyberpunk 2077.
Sony Is Offering Refunds for Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad
Players have been quite vocal about the bad experience they are having with Kill the Justice League and have shared the myriad of problems with the game. From technical issues to gameplay, Rocksteady is far from what it’s known for, and now Sony is offering refunds to players who have digitally purchased the game via the PS Store, going against its strict refund policy.
Reddit user u/Tris posted a screenshot on the r/SuicideSquadGaming subreddit saying that they have been refunded for the game. The image showed a refund issue citing “an item you purchased could not be used.” The player added that they only submitted the request and didn’t expect anything to come out of it, as the company rarely refunds digital purchases.
The post has been removed since then, and its legitimacy cannot be verified, but the player encouraged other players to request a refund if they’re not happy with the game, saying that “it’s very rare,” but they have also received a refund for FIFA 22. Sony has previously offered a refund for Cyberpunk 2077, which too had similar issues and players found it completely unplayable.
The player also shared the process of how to go about the refund and said that players need to contact PlayStation support via live chat on the website and report the issues. And if the issues are faced by the “specialist team,” too, a refund would be issued. Several players seem to be taking this seriously and have said that they will also be trying to get a refund.
The Game Is Getting Season 1 Despite the Issues
Players are still facing issues playing the game, but Rocksteady has said that the game will not receive a patch this week and will instead focus on getting the game ready for Season 1, which launches later this month. Season 1 will see the arrival of Joker in the game on March 28.
The developers will surely try to bring back the players with Season 1, but the game has seen significantly low player numbers on Steam. The game has an all-time concurrent player peak of 13,459 that was recorded last month.
Despite the issues and low player count, Rocksteady Studios wants to try its luck with Season 1, but it cannot be said for certain if it will be enough to save the game. Have you played Kill the Justice League? Let us know in the comments.
