The Superman comics are filled with various stories of the famed Kryptonian’s hero and villain moments. Indeed, one of his rare powers ultimately turned him into the antagonist of his own arc.

Superman’s Bizarre Power Made Him Green With Jealousy

Comics Unlocked from YouTube posted a clip about Superman’s forgotten power. In the short story entitled Superman’s New Power in Superman #125 by Jerry Coleman, Stan Kaye, Al Plastino, and Kurt Schaffenberger, the hero lost his powers after encountering an alien ship.

However, he developed an ability to shoot rainbows from his fingers, causing a mini Superman to shoot out of his hands.

After encountering a mysterious alien ship, Superman would gain the ability to shoot a miniature version of himself from his hand. This version of Superman possessed all his regular powers and would eventually assume the responsibilities of his normal-sized counterpart.”

The twist happens when the miniature hero begins attracting worldwide attention, leaving the original Superman feeling envious of his spawn’s popularity.

But in an unexpected turn of events, mini Superman would begin gaining recognition for his heroic actions, causing Clark to become jealous and end up thinking of a plan to eliminate him.”

The ruthless villain in Superman would send his mini counterpart on his own death row, and just like that, he gets the love and support of the people again.

Clark Kent would send mini Superman on a suicide mission to block a meteorite made of kryptonite. Mini Superman would begin to vanish upon contact and Clark would regain all his powers again.”

As bizarre as Superman’s rare power, this short story only proves that the character has so much versatility.

The latest update on the upcoming DC Universe version of the famed Son of Krypton saw James Gunn change the title of his project. Dropping the ‘Legacy’ from its name, the movie will just be known as ‘Superman.’ He shared his explanation on Instagram (via Twitter):

It felt like the right name. And when I brought it up everyone agreed. And there really hasn’t been a movie titled “SUPERMAN” since the 1979 movie was solely promoted as Superman: The Movie.”

He also shared that the principal photography has already begun, writing on Instagram along with the reveal of Superman’s costume logo: “When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy. By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was SUPERMAN.”
