Yet another title, Supervive, which is a work in progress, is going to test its luck by challenging mainstream Battle Royale games such as Fortnite and PUBG. While the trend of Battle Royale games might have been subdued in recent years, many gaming studios are still working on titles that could make their name in this oversaturated genre.

Interestingly, the game is being developed by ex-devs from Valorant, League of Legends, Overwatch, and Apex Legends, which is reflected in the game as it seems like a mixture of all at first glance.

Supervive Has Elements of Many Other Games

Previously known as Project Loki, Supervive feels very much like a League of Legends game that is taking place in Battle Royale mode. The game comprises many elements of a MOBA, like picking up a character with abilities that will be your fighter in the match.

However, it’s more than just a generic MOBA game, as it has its nuances that separate it from the rest. It is much more fast-paced and the ability to wield guns is a cherry on top.

While the abilities of the characters you choose before a match are important, the loot you collect during the game is even more crucial, similar to what happens in other Battle Royale games. You can also compare the game to Apex, Overwatch, and Valorant, where you have characters with abilities that also wield weapons.

One thing that separates this new game from other Battle Royale games is that each decision you make in the game has consequential effects. You can’t just camp and do nothing throughout a match and pop at the last moment to win the game.

It is an Ambitious Project With Unique Gameplay

It’s fair to say that the game has an uphill climb. Battle Royale already has prominent titles, and fighting for relevance with them isn’t going to be easy. That said, it constitutes elements of many different games and offers something new.

You can either play solo or with a team in a Battle Royale fashion, where completing several mini-objectives will get you ahead. Much like a MOBA, there are creeps in the game that you have to kill to get an advantage. Furthermore, the abilities of your character will determine your playstyle, so it’s vital to pick carefully.

The game is certainly complex, and the top-down camera angle in it might throw players off. However, it is one of those games where you’ll probably be bad at first, but with more time investment, you’ll get better. Furthermore, if you are coming from a traditional Battle Royale game, don’t expect your skills to translate directly.
