“I once said that I used to work at Universal Studios and then someone online accused me of lying about that, which is insane. If I didn’t work there, how would I know all the Universal characters, like Shock, The Minions, and Harry Porter.”

She went on to introduce herself to the viewers as she further threw shade on her role in Madame Web

“You might have seen me in ‘Anyone But You’ or ‘Euphoria.’ You definitely did not see me in ‘Madame Web.'”

As the audience burst into laughter, she also dropped details on her upcoming project as she continued,

“But I do have a new film coming out called ‘Immaculate.’ I play a nun, so it’s perfect casting.”

She further talked about how people often perceive her as a star who “screams, cries, and has s-x.” but she is more than that. It is more evident now that she can serve a great range when it comes to acting as she has already portrayed different roles.

While she’s undoubtedly a talented actress, many have often questioned her skills, bashing her for getting roles only for her looks. However, the actress has already given a subtle response in her SNL monologue as she made viewers aware of her next project, Immaculate, in which she plays the role of Cecilia, a nun who experiences horrifying events after moving to a convent in the Italian countryside.

In an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Euphoria star revealed about getting hooked on the project for years. Having always wanted to do something in the horror genre, she revealed,

“I auditioned for a version of this movie when I was 16…And they never made it.”

After a decade, she decided to take matters into her own hands as she added, “I can’t get this script out of my mind.”

She worked with writer Andrew Lobel to rewrite the script to match her as a 25-year-old. She later became attached as a producer and kept the project in-making as she brought financiers and a director on board.

With Sydney Sweeney starring and producing Immaculate, it is set to release in the US on March 22, 2024.
