Sydney Sweeney is gearing up for a busy spring of 2024 as she has two films coming out this year. She has the Sony-Marvel film Madame Web where she plays Julia Carpenter, which is releasing on February 14. She also has the psychological horror film Immaculate (releasing on March 22), which recently unveiled its trailer (via YouTube).

The story of the film revolves around a deeply religious nun played by Sweeney who has a mysterious pregnancy in a convent in the Italian countryside, However, this miracle only comes to haunt her as terrifying and horrific scenarios begin to occur around her and she starts suspecting that the convent is not as ‘immaculate’ as it seems to be.

Another film that is coming out with an eerily similar premise is The First Omen, which is the prequel to the 1976 classic The Omen. The film, like Immaculate, centers around a woman who is in service of a Roman Catholic Church. Judging by the trailer (on YouTube), Neil Tiger Free’s character uncovers a sinister conspiracy within the church and she might be the one to give birth to the Antichrist (Damien Thorn in The Omen).

The First Omen releases just two weeks after Immaculate on April 5. The two films will be a treat for horror fans. Both films are centered around the church and feature nuns as the main protagonists. With Sweeney and Free being powerhouse actresses, they are sure to bring the much-needed intensity required for their films.

She described the whole filming days in Boston as a very cool experience. Sweeney claimed that the makers behind the film scanned her whole body and face to prepare her costume. When she finally got to wear it, she felt like a superhero. She said,

I was in Boston already — we filmed in Boston — and we had like this really cool skin done of our body, so they could get like a full 3D measurement of us. And they showed us sketches, and I was like ‘Oh my god that’s so cool!’ because it had like full 3D sketches of our faces. And when I put it on, I truly … I felt like a superhero. It was the coolest thing ever.”
