Taylor Swift Breaks Tradition With The Tortured Poets Department

Taylor Swift has seemingly decided to break a longstanding tradition for her upcoming 11th album, The Tortured Poets Department, that she has followed since the release of her fourth album, Red. Swift has adhered to a unique practice of naming her albums with single-word titles.

The trend was established with her following albums, including Fearless, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights. This consistent approach became a signature style for Swift, showcasing simplicity and elegance in album naming.

Her only albums with more than one word include her first album, Taylor Swift, and her third album Speak Now. The Tortured Poets Department breaks her 14-year-long rule with a more elaborate and detailed name, signifying a creative evolution in Swift’s approach to storytelling and album themes.

The Tortured Poets Department is set to be released on April 19, 2024.
