Amazon has some of the most loved television series. Whether it is Good Omens, The Boys, Invincible, or Rings of Power, the streaming site does not fail to please its audience. Highlighting The Boys, the series is one that is great at breaking the norms and exploring territories many fear doing. That is one of the biggest reasons why its success still stands strong after three seasons.

Karl Urban’s series is especially intriguing because of its lack of holding back. Whether it is about swearing, the nudity, or the concepts it highlights, the show goes all out. Although most of the time they get to do whatever they want, including a super whose superpower was to literally manipulate his p*nis. However, one detail was where Amazon drew the line.

Amazon Could Not Have One of The Boys‘ Main Characters Walk Around Inappropriately

One key detail that showrunner Erik Kripke wanted to add in The Boys, included the costume of Chace Crawford’s The Deep. Kripke also happened to make Supernatural, another highly loved show. However, his freedom in this show is much more visible. Except for a detail he was forced to remove. Amazon had never really interfered in the show’s making until they saw what The Deep initially looked like.

“Kripke was like, ‘We get no notes from Amazon, but the first one we got was that [the bulge] can’t f***ing happen, we’ve got to take that out.”

His character was initially supposed to have a disturbingly large p*nis that would have unfortunately been visible through his costume. The idea was to make it as a comic representation. Perhaps it could have given more meaning to his otherwise concerning personality as well. It was the first time Amazon chose to interfere with the show, completely scrapping the idea and forcing the showrunner to take it out.

Erik Kripke Used CGI On Chace Crawford

Actors working on the set of The Boys seem to really enjoy their time there. Although Amazon stopped what Erik Kripke and Chace Crawford were conspiring, they both loved doing it. After the studios interfered, they were forced to go back and remove that bulge with the help of CGI because shooting them again would have been a hassle.

The Boys has been one of the most popular series of all tme.

“They showed me one of the months and I’m like, ‘Cool.’ But then I’m flipping through and I’m like, ‘Wait … I’m in every one of these. It’s just me. Well … s***.'[…] I died laughing. It’s obviously in character and it’s amazingly cheesy and really funny. We really went for it.”

Crawford recalled that an entire calendar was made only with The Deep’s photos. However, it was no ordinary calendar. It included photos of his character before Amazon’s objection. Crawford could not stop laughing because of how amusing the situation actually was.
