Matthew McConaughey, while speaking with People, referenced how Jennifer Lopez was an absolute inspiration to work with. For their 2001 film The Wedding Planner, the actor learned a lot about Lopez and how she works.
“It would be a two-minute scene. Take one’s two minutes. Take two is 2:01. Take three is 1:59. Take four, it’s 2:01. She had it down. That woman’s a worker and knows what she wants to do and she does what she needs to do to pull [it] off. I really appreciate that.”
According to McConaughey, the actress was always by the clock when it came to her work ethic. She jotted down all possible notes, kept in mind every single scene that was being enacted, and was observant about the most minute details.
In the end, it was her dedication to her art that became a driving force for even the actor. Lopez and her constant professionalism brought about a sense of awe that the Interstellar actor could not miss.

In an Instagram live where Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey reunited to celebrate two decades of The Wedding Planner in 2021, the latter sang songs of praise for the former. He was still not over just how dedicated she was to her art. In his opinion, if Lopez wanted to get anything done, she would put her mind, body, and soul into it.
“You prepare so well for everything you do. I love your intentionality, I love how deliberate you are. You would have it down.”
