Although Jennifer Lopez met Alex Rodriguez for the first time in 2005, they did not start dating until 2017. Throughout their relationship, they made several public appearances and got engaged in 2019 (via Allure). Unfortunately, they broke off the engagement in April 2021 (via PEOPLE) after calling off their wedding.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, he opened up about becoming a fan of the pop singer. This was when he took his daughter 15-year-old daughter Ella to the Good 4 U singer’s tour stop at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
Speaking of his experience of attending the show, the former New York Yankees player said:
“That was really cool. We had a great time. I was surrounded by 20,000 teenagers screaming very, very loud, but Ella had the time of her life. She got to meet Olivia after, and she was so nice to my daughter. She was so humble, so connected, and it’s definitely a day that we won’t forget for a long time.”
When asked if he considers himself a part of the singer’s fanbase which calls itself ‘Livies’, he claimed that he did, adding that the singer is very kind and humble besides being incredibly talented.

Former High School Musical actress Olivia Rodrigo is now a pop sensation. She rose to prominence with the release of the single Driver’s License from her 2021 chart-topping album Sour. In 2023, she released another album Guts, and embarked on her second headlining tour Guts World Tour.
Many celebrities have attended Rodrigo’s tour and Alex Rodriguez is also one of them. In the same interview with PEOPLE, he also expressed his relief over the fact that his youngest daughter has an artist like Rodrigo to look up to, saying:
“I think role models are very important as our mentors. You get to learn a lot from people that you admire, and I’m happy that my girls have these types of role models and they pay attention closely.”
Rodrigo has set an example for many artists out there who have been waiting for their breakthroughs in the industry, and Rodriguez seems to understand this.
