The writer found it problematic that it didn’t use the word ‘women’ and laid out the importance of sex and lived-in women’s reality. Many found her views to be transphobic and she has been suffering the wrath of it ever since. Now, the writer seems to be fed up with these criticisms and has now started trolling people who continue to slam her for being transphobic.

Recently, a user who is a queer bookstore employee threatened Rowling on X, claiming that she would destroy and remove all of her ‘awful’ books from her store and continued calling Rowling an ableist and transphobic individual. Rowling simply gave a one-word reply, trolling her statement as she replied “That’s my career over, then”  sarcastically joking that her career will be over due to the individual’s actions.

Through the sarcastic reply, it is clear that Rowling is tired of the criticism around her and wants it to end. However, people are not ready to forgive her and queer people especially feel she is transphobic. It seems this controversial discourse is still not dying anytime soon.
