A lot of A-listers in the industry have had to train to build a certain physique or to learn some techniques for portraying their roles in the past. Tom Hardy who portrayed the role of Tommy Conlon in the 2011 sports action movie, Warrior also picked up the habit that he would continue to do for years after the end of filming of the movie.

Joel Edgerton talks about how he gave up on MMA training
In the movie, Warrior, Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton portrayed the roles of on-screen brothers who were both MMA fighters. Both the actors trained very hard for their roles and gained much muscle mass to sell their portrayals perfectly. The duo would go on to face each other in the final of a tournament in which Edgerton’s character, Brendan Conlon came out victorious.
However, the result would be much different if the actors went against each other today as revealed by Joey Edgerton in an interview recently. In a recent interview with GamesRadar, Edgerton was asked if still keeping up with any of the MMA training that he did while preparing for Warrior. He said,
“No, I haven’t been doing any of the MMA. I’ve been doing a little bit of boxing – but that’s nothing compared to Tom Hardy. He’s doing jujitsu tournaments now! Strangely, in the film, his character actually wasn’t so much into that side of things, but now he’s doing a lot more of it. For me, whilst I do box, I’m more into gentle things these days.”
