She recalled calling her longtime partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas in the middle of the night to invest $20 million of her own money in the project, despite skepticism from some close associates. The actress also shared during her interview with Variety that skepticism also prevailed among the Hollywood celebrities she reached out to star in the movie.

She shared that while some accepted her offer, others rejected it, one of them being The Kardashians star Khloe Kardashian. Reflecting on her rejection, Lopez shared, “People are scared to put themselves out there.”

Although she acknowledged her own fears and admitted that it took her a long time to adjust to this lifestyle, Lopez also shared that she chooses not to show it, saying, ” I’m scared. But I don’t act like I’m scared — that’s the secret to my whole fucking career.”

If the socialite had accepted the role, it would have marked her first acting gig in nearly a decade, although all her previous roles involved portraying herself. The Kardashians star has not said anything about the offer or the potential role in Jennifer Lopez’s film yet.
