Timothée Chalamet’s Dune: Part Two hit the global theaters today, and the response has been simply outstanding. Fans hail the film as the epic science fiction film of Hollywood, following along the lines of George Lucas’s The Empire Strikes Back. The film has exceptional performances, but fans are swooning over Chalamet’s Paul Atreides and his charisma. They took to social media to praise the actor, with a few pointing out an Oscar-worthy scene in the film.
The film, directed by Denis Villeneuve and produced by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros., is expected to make big bucks for the studios. WB is in dire need of such a box office boost to save them from their current low $8.60 share price in the market.
Fans Are Sure Timothée Chalamet May Win An Oscar For Dune: Part Two
From the early screening onwards, Dune: Part Two has been receiving raving reviews, thus building the hype for the film among the audiences. When the film finally opened to the mass audiences today, praise for Denis Villeneuve‘s cinematic magic has been pouring in from all sides. Among the other brilliant aspects of the film, fans are particularly hailing Timothée Chalamet‘s performance as Paul Atreides.
Fans on X are celebrating one particular scene of Chalamet, where he slowly turns from Paul of House Atreides to Muad’Dib (Messiah) of the Fremen people. Paul and his mother, Lady Jessica, encounter the Fremen in the dunes of Arrakis while escaping from the clutches of House Harkonnen. Paul learns the ways of the Fremen with help from his romantic interest Chani, played by Zendaya, and Shishakli, played by Souhelia Yacoub.
He fulfills the Fremen’s belief in the prophecy of an off-world messiah, whom they call ‘Muad’Dib’. In Dune: Part Two, fans unanimously shared that Chalamet nailed the scene where Paul addresses the Fremen to convince them that he is their messiah. The delivery of the scene alone could win Chalamet his first Best Actor Oscar. He was nominated earlier for the award for his film, Call Me by Your Name.
One fan on X shared that Chalamet’s scene was the best thing in the film. Another fan demanded that the Little Women actor should be given all the awards for that scene alone. One fan explained that Paul is a gray-shaded character in the film and Chalamet is deserving of an Oscar for capturing these nuances. The scene gave chills to many, and many confirmed that Timothée Chalamet is one of the greatest actors of this generation. Some fan reactions read:

Timmy’s Oscar scene and it shows you how the worship is getting to Paul’s head. Read the book. Paul isn’t a good guy.

The film also starred Rebecca Ferguson, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux, and Anya Taylor-Joy.
