Margot Robbie has pretty much emerged as one of the most notable actresses in recent times, garnering acclaim for her roles in films like The Wolf of Wall Street, The Suicide Squad and of course – Barbie. However, that doesn’t mean she is content, resting on her laurels. Unfortunately, fans might have to wait a long time for a sequel to Barbie as Greta Gerwig plans to revisit another movie for a sequel.
Margot Robbie got to work with Greta Gerwig as part of Barbie last year, which became a major draw thanks to all the internet hype created by the fact that both Barbie and Oppenheimer were being released on the same day, giving birth to the Barbenheimer phenomenon. The success speaks for itself considering how Barbie set the Box Office on fire.

Greta Gerwig’s Desire To Revisit An Older Movie For A Potential Sequel Might Spell Doom For Barbie 2
Greta Gerwig is one of the most talented directors in Hollywood right now and she has also directed the classic 2017 film Lady Bird, a beautiful coming-of-age tale. While speaking in a recent interview, Greta Gerwig was asked about making a sequel to Lady Bird. Gerwig made it clear she has definitely thought about it and would be open to it.
”You know, I haven’t thought about it that way, although part of me would love to because I love Saoirse as an actor and character, and the characters are very intimate to me. It’s almost like the person I wish I had been but I was never as confident about myself. But I would revisit it, I know I definitely want to make more films in Sacramento. I have a vague idea for two other ones.”
Greta Gerwig has accomplished so much in her career that a sequel to Lady Bird would most definitely be a major hit, should it ever happen. Only time will tell whether fans will get to see the sequel somewhere down the line.
Margot Robbie Confirmed There Are No Immediate Plans For Barbie 2
Greta Gerwig’s Barbie broke several records as it earned an earth-shattering $1.4 billion at the Box Office. Because of the movie’s major success, it was a given that a sequel would be made. However, fans might be in for a disappointment in that regard.
While speaking to AP Entertainment, Margot Robbie was asked about a sequel to Barbie. Margot Robbie made it clear that when they made the first film, they didn’t have any sequels planned for the future.
“I think we put everything into this one. We didn’t build it to be a trilogy or something. It was like Greta put everything into this movie, so I can’t imagine what would be next.”
Fans are likely to express disappointment over the potential lack of a sequel for Barbie. Despite this, Margot Robbie’s upcoming projects offer hope for future enjoyment, which is at least better than not getting any films featuring her.
