It’s the original story of Snyder, however, he took inspiration from influential filmmakers like Akira Kurosawa and George Lucas. As he told in an interview with Empire magazine, the movie is like “Seven Samurai in Space.”

Despite Rebel Moon’s bad reception from fans, it gives them another good reason to be disappointed. Zack Snyder fans took to social media to express the way Ray Fisher’s character Darrian Bloodaxe was killed off in Rebel Moon – Part 1: A Child of Fire.

His life was under threat when he joined Kora against the Imperium. And it came so quickly, even just after the character was introduced. Several fans expressed shock over Snyder’s decision. One fan even said, “Ray Fisher got done dirty in Rebel Moon.”

As said, Ray Fisher will get to feature in the second part of Rebel Moon, it does not seem likely to happen. There’s no doubt Darrian Bloodaxe is worthy, and as the leader of a growing rebel movement, he deserves a far more elaborate backstory to be told than what has already been revealed.

Fans find it improbable that considering Fisher’s strong bond with Zack Snyder, it seems unlikely they will agree to such a minor role for the actor.

As Darrian Bloodaxe dies in Part One: A Child of Fire, it suggests Fisher may not be part of Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver.

Unlike Imperium, the moon’s farmers don’t have the resources to give new life to a lifeless body. It means the warrior will remain dead, hinting that Fisher may not return for the sequel to the space opera film.
