Even though the Game Awards 2023 won’t take place until December 7th, it has already been revealed what games have been nominated for the narrative category, and many gamers have been taken by surprise at the fact that certain games have been ignored that deserve to be in this category.
What Games Have Been Nominated for the Best Narrative Category During the Game Awards 2023?
At the moment, there have been five different games that have been nominated for the Best Narrative Game Awards 2023. All five of these games have been taken from completely different genres and all have their merits, but some gamers feel there were better options within this year that could have been nominated.
However, the five different games that have been nominated are Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy XVI, Baldur’s Gate 3, and finally Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Each of these games has its own merits for being nominated in this category, as each game has been received very well within the gaming community.
Especially games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Final Fantasy XVI, which many fans were very concerned about as many believed there was a chance that each of these games would struggle to achieve this award.
Even though each of these games has earned the right to be nominated in this category, there are some fans who believe that other games deserve a nomination just as much. This does not mean that these five games do not deserve their recognition, but that there are other games that could also deserve a nomination.
What Other Games Could Have Been Nominated for the Best Narrative Category?
Within 2023, there have been a large number of games that have been released within the year or have received content drops that have been released within this year. This has led many gamers to wonder what other games could also have been nominated for this category.
This does not mean that the games that have been nominated should be replaced, as this is all down to preference in the gaming community. One of the main games that has been mentioned by the gaming community is The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, which was released earlier this year.
Even though The Legend Of Zelda: TOTK has been nominated for other categories, gamers still believe that it could have been nominated for the best narrative category. However, some feel that the story within The Legend Of Zelda: TOTK wasn’t as up to par as games like Alan Wake 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Another game that many gamers considered worthy of nomination for the best narrative category is GhostRunner 2, which carries on the story from the first game. Since this franchise has a rather large occult following, many gamers feel that it could have received a lot more attention from the Game Awards 2023, but unfortunately, that isn’t the case.
At the moment, the nominations are final and are unlikely to change, as the Game Awards 2023 is unlikely to change its decision. Even though this decision may not change, gamers are still happy with the choices that have been made, as the games that have been nominated are still very high-tier games.
