The Game Awards are always a treat for those craving more news regarding their favorite games, and just now, we’ve got official confirmation of As Dusk Falls coming to PlayStation 5.
Originally released in 2022 for Xbox and PC, As Dusk Falls is a narrative-driven story game that relies on your interactivity for immersion. The game launched to incredibly positive reception and is now making its way onto the PlayStation, as well as Epic Games and GOG.
The Game Awards Reveals As Dusk Falls Release Date for PlayStation
Not only did we get a trailer to celebrate the release of the game on PlayStation platforms, but we also got a tentative release date as to when As Dusk Falls will be available. Previously, there were only hints at a PS5 launch due to a rating in Taiwan, but there was no official confirmation.
But now it has been officially revealed. The jaw-dropping immersive narrative experience will be coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Epic Games, and GOG on March 7th, 2024.
The game was published by Xbox Game Studios, so it makes sense as to why the game will be coming to Sony’s platforms two years after release. It may have taken a while, but finally, PlayStation players will be able to play through As Dusk Falls and fall in love with the experience that Xbox players fell in love with two years ago.
Pre-orders are now open for the above-mentioned platforms. The game will be released worldwide digitally, but for collectors, a premium physical edition for the PlayStation 5 will be available in Spring 2024. You can pre-order the physical edition from Serenity Forge.
As Seen in The Game Awards Trailer, What Else Can You Expect from As Dusk Falls?
As Dusk Falls has received numerous nominations and has even previously won The Game Award for Games for Impact at The Game Awards 2022. Due to the game’s previous rating, many already suspected that the game would be present at this year’s The Game Awards in some way, shape, or form.
The PlayStation 5 version of the game will come equipped with the awesome haptic feedback and touchpad controls that we’ve come to expect from the best PS5 games. Just when you think the game can’t get more immersive, studio INTERIOR/NIGHT outdoes itself once again and goes above and beyond.
Caroline Marchal, Lead Game designer on Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls and CEO of INTERIOR/NIGHT, seems to completely understand the true power of the PlayStation 5 and its immersive capabilities.
Since its launch on Xbox and Steam last year, we’ve been immensely proud of how our debut game has been received by players and critics alike. We are now especially excited to bring ‘As Dusk Falls’ to PlayStation and its fantastic community that deeply enjoys cinematic narrative experiences.
Being a cinematic experience first and a game second, As Dusk Falls completely relies on your immersion for it to be successful. Thankfully, the DualSense controller comes with the right tools that a studio like INTERIOR/NIGHT would need to realize their vision.
We are leveraging the distinctive capabilities of the PS5 with Haptic Feedback to increase the weight of every decision and touchpad controls to make the gameplay even more intuitive. We can’t wait to see how new players will shape their characters’ fates in the world of ‘As Dusk Falls’ in the coming year.
Currently, As Dusk Falls is only available on Xbox Series consoles, the Xbox One, and Windows. Up to eight players can play together in the game’s incredibly popular multiplayer mode, whether you want to play locally or online.
As Dusk Falls is looking like it may be the most immersive experience on PlayStation 5 yet. We’ll just have to wait and see on March 7th, 2024, how well the team’s vision of immersion was realized.
