But for Phase 5 of the MCU, the character was gender-swapped and portrayed by Zawe Ashton in The Marvels—creating a powerful female villain.

In the movie, Ashton’s character met her fate during an epic fight scene. Dar-Benn tried to remove the second bangle from Ms. Marvel and used both Quantum bands’ power to open a wormhole, but it backfired, and she was immediately disintegrated.

While there’s a chance Ashton’s character might not return, if she does, the actress wants to team up with two MCU actors. But fans aren’t too keen on the idea.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Zawe Ashton revealed that there are two Marvel actors with whom she would like to have a crossover with. She said:

“If I came back and had to crossover with a bunch of people? I’ve already joked about this today, but it would have to be to crossover with Loki and Daredevil because I basically started in a play with Tom and Charlie Cox and they were in this huge universe, which at that time I didn’t know that much about. If we could make that full circle happen, that would be quite fun.

If the character were to return and crossover with other characters, the 39-year-old actress joked about wanting to team up with Loki and Daredevil.

Ashton mentioned having started in a play with Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Cox. She thinks it would be fun to complete that circle by crossing over into the Marvel universe with them. But fans are not supportive of this idea.

The Marvels had a villain problem. Dar-Benn deserved to be the new evil queen of the MCU, but she fell short of expectations.

Ashton’s performance was great, but in The Marvels, Dar-Benn didn’t get enough time to develop into a compelling villain because the movie moves too quickly.

The Marvels Star Eyes Dar-Benn’s Origin Story Expansion

When asked in the same interview—Marvel introduced various characters that really truly never dies. They can come back through the What If series, whatever it may be.

But if her character does return, what would she like to explore that she didn’t get a chance to with Dar-Benn in the future?

In response, the London native expressed interest in exploring more of the character’s origin story and the origin story of the Kree. She added:

“God, it’s such a great question. I was keen to explore more of her origin story and the origin story for the Kree. Obviously, it’s been done in different ways and Secret Invasion has this whole other thing. I just love the idea of this young woman who feels like she needs to avenge her people, and just to see more of the origin story would be amazing.”

Though in the Marvel Multiverse, the return of characters is possible, Dar-Benn is definitely dead at the end of the movie. So, let’s see if there are any prospects for her to return.
