One Piece is one of the few anime that has maintained the same level of excitement for the fans since its inception. Over time, many anime lose their flavor, but Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus is different. The Final Saga of the anime has commenced, and its first arc is almost at its climax. Eiichiro Oda does a great job of keeping the mysteries secret and spilling them only when the time is right.
The Egghead Island arc has nothing short of a rollercoaster ride of emotions with simultaneous revelations. But still, the mystery about the ‘One Piece’ is something that every anime fan wants to know. There have been several fan theories in the past surrounding its true meaning. But the latest one suggests that the One Piece is about the D Clan overthrowing the World Government.
The D Clan Are The Natural Enemies of the World Government
Since the beginning of One Piece, everybody wanted to know the meaning of the ‘D’ in Monkey D. Luffy. As the anime progressed, it was revealed that the members of the D Clan were regarded as the natural enemies of the World Government. The World Government was formed 800 years ago and has kept the information about the D Clan a secret since it might ultimately lead to their defeat.

Very little is known about the D Clan except for a few of the remaining members. One thing can be said for certain is that they carry a strong will and are not bothered by the World Government. Monkey D. Luffy is always at the opposite end of the World Government and has directly challenged them by burning their flag. His father, Monkey D. Dragon, is the worst criminal in history and is the leader of the Revolutionary Army.
Even Luffy’s grandfather, Monkey D. Garp, who is a Marine Admiral, does everything according to his mood. He does not abide by the rules. The fan theory claims that the One Piece might be a piece of information that will reveal secrets about the D Clan and help in overthrowing the World Government. It may also happen that the D Clan knows the darkest secrets of the World Government, which they do not want to make public, or it was a futuristic civilization and had access to the ancient weapons.
One Piece Could Be the Ultimate Weapon for the World Government’s Destruction
The World Government includes Imu-sama, the Five Elders, Celestial Dragons, and the Marines. Imu-sama’s real identity and the Celestial Dragon’s true nature might also come out with One Piece. People know how ruthless and stonehearted the World Government is. They are willing to sacrifice civilians to uphold justice. It may be the reason why the World Government was formed in the first place.
The D Clan may be the ultimate good guys. There is also a distinction between the D Clan members. Few are good, and others are evil. But their ultimate motive was the same. Watching the Roger Pirates’ reaction after reaching Laugh Tale hinted that the One Piece might not be typically a treasure. It might be something more. The fan theory about it being the key to solving the D Clan mystery has a pretty high chance.
But at the end of the day, it still is a fan theory. Until Eiichiro Oda decides to reveal the biggest mystery of all, nothing can be said for sure. It would be pretty interesting if the natural enemies turn out to be the natural protector of the people.
