Freya Allan, one of the stars of the hit Netflix series The Witcher is all set to star in a new horror fantasy film in a lead role. Also starring multiple other young stars, the movie’s cast announcement has garnered a lot of attention from netizens who allege the movie is nepotism central on steroids.

The reason for these allegations is that the cast includes actors like Raff Law, son of acclaimed actors Sadie Frost and Jude Law, Thalia Besson, the daughter of well-known French filmmaker Luc Besson, as well as Malcolm McRae, the husband of the Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy.

Freya Allan‘s performance in The Witcher opposite Henry Cavill‘s Geralt earned her immense praise and fame. While fans have been desperately waiting for her next project, they did not take the news of her new movie announcement pleasantly. Set to star as the lead in Rombus Entertainment’s Triton, the cast announcement of the movie has been garnering a lot of attention but all for the wrong reasons.

Set in Athens, Greece, the fantasy horror thriller stars actors like Thalia Besson and Raff Law, both children of well-known and acclaimed personalities in entertainment. Furthermore, it also has Malcolm McRae, actor and musician married to the Golden Globe-winning actress Anya Taylor-Johnson.

The ensemble of such a cast has fans claiming that the movie is a classic case of nepotism instead of starring any ‘real’ talent. While it is true that to some degree, relatives or children of well-known celebrities are generally preferred in the glitzy world of cinema thanks to the fame associated with their names, this being the case with this movie can only be revealed once it is released.

Helmed by Janell Shirtcliff, the movie centers on three young women on a vacation in Greece running into three young men, who are more than what they seem.
