American actress Sydney Sweeney has been making waves in Hollywood recently. But her claim to fame is probably the hit HBO show, Euphoria, starring Zendaya in the lead. Playing the character of Cassie, Sweeney captured the hearts and mind of the audiences, and left them in complete awe of her.
In season two of the hit series, Sweeney played a pregnant version of her character Cassie. Her boyfriend, Nate, after a fight with Fez (played by the late actor Angus Cloud), in his delusions, fantasizes about marrying Cassie and starting a family with her. And to bring this fantasy to life, Sydney Sweeney had to go through some tough times.
Sydney Sweeney’s Pregnant Belly in Euphoria Season 2
To prepare for playing a pregnant Cassie, Sydney Sweeney had to make some adjustments. To make sure that her baby bump looked as real as possible, the team made sure the prosthetics used in Sweeney were perfectly placed. The actress posted many behind-the-scenes pictures on her Instagram feed, as well as posting stories detailing how it all went down.
“This belly was insane,” she wrote in the first story, showing Cassie’s pregnant belly. This was followed by another Insta story, where she detailed the process. “Had to do a full body cast so they could make the prosthetic belly,” Sweeney wrote, before adding, “They basically paper macheted me,” in the next (via Seventeen).
Though Cassie (or Sweeney) was not really pregnant, the prosthetics used on the actress looked very realistic. After the second season, the show took a break for almost 2 years, but Euphoria and its cast will be back with Season 3, most probably in 2025.
What Is Next for Sydney Sweeney?
Sydney Sweeney is currently busy with her upcoming movie Madam Web. The Sony-Marvel collaboration for the Spider-Verse movie will see the 26-year-old actress play Julia Cornwall/Spider-Woman. The Dakota Johnson-led movie will see the character of Sydney Sweeney, alongside Celeste O’Connor’s Mattie Franklin being targetted by a powerful foe.
In the middle of it all is Johnson’s Cassandra “Cassie” Web, a paramedic with clairvoyant abilities who is trying to save these two women. Though the movie’s anticipation is high among Marvel lovers, critics’ reviews have been mostly negative for Madam Web. The movie is scheduled to be released on February 14, 2024.
