Solo Leveling has the world up on its feet. The amazing visuals, fight sequences, and on top of it, a great plot. Ever since it was announced, the fans could barely control their excitement and counted the days for its release. Sung Jin-Woo’s journey from being the weakest to the strongest hunter in the world is just in its initial stages.
But among such high expectations, there always lies a controversy within. The same happened with Solo Leveling. Even though the fans praised the early introduction of Cha Hae-in, an unnecessary transition grabbed the attention of the fans. The latest episode had the fans disappointed with the sequence shifting to a café scene with the dungeon scene still going on. The random transition was not appreciated by them.
Solo Leveling Leaves the Fans Unhappy
After the Cartenon Temple incident, Sung Jin-Woo is on his way to leveling up at every step. He was assigned a set of tasks each day, and completing them would get him to level up. In the latest episode of Solo Leveling, Sung Jin-Woo has overcome his fear of being the weakest hunter of all and has showcased new abilities that stunned the fans. He entered a new dungeon along with a bunch of different hunters.
My only critique on the latest episode is that this scene's placement was bad.

The scene itself is pretty good since it establishes the side characters and the world very early on, but the cutaway from what's happening in the dungeon to this is so random and out of place. pic.twitter.com/BHzhKFX82q
Even Cha Hae-in was also there in the dungeon. But just as it was about to get interesting, the sequence suddenly shifted to a café scene. The café scene introduced the side characters, including Hee-Jin and Gina. While it was good to see the characters being introduced early in the anime, shifting the sequence to another scene with no connection whatsoever left the fans disappointed.
Solo Leveling has awesome fight sequences, and the dungeon fight was going to be the first of many. The anime introduces characters earlier than in the manhwa, but introducing them in between is something they did not wish for. The fans were quick to address their disappointment with social media.
Fans React to the Latest Solo Leveling Episode
Solo Leveling was a much-anticipated anime of 2024, and rightfully, it lived up to the expectations of the fans. But the episode left a bad taste for them. Social media flooded with comments that mentioned how these small things can completely change the dynamics of a scene. One of the X (formerly Twitter) users said that it was the worst place for scene change.
Yeah lol, they chose the worst places

Another one said it was exciting to see the anime, but the introduction of the café scene made no sense.
As a source material reader, I got excited but as an anime only, this scene in the middle of an action scene doesn't make any sense.

People went further and said that it was a horrible transition between sequences.
This episode had absolutely horrible transitions between action scenes and non action scenes.

If the scene was at the beginning, it would have been better.
Couldn't have this been placed at the very beginning of the episode, at least? That would've been a much better direction imho.

Fans feel that the transition of the anime from the manga is out of place.
As a manhwa reader these characters intro hyped me up but from anime only's pov this scene would be so Outta place

Solo Leveling is still in its initial phase. It does a good job of introducing the characters early so that the anime can focus on the main story later. But the creators need to remember not to interrupt a dungeon scene. If it continues, more disappointment is in store for the fans.
Solo Leveling is available on Crunchyroll.
