The SNL co-stars bought a decommissioned Staten Island ferry boat back in 2022, and it took them a long time to think about what to do with it. Davidson admitted they were not in their sober state when they signed up for it.

Pete Davidson and Colin Jost Bought A Ferry Boat While Stoned

In an interview with ET Online, actor-comedian Pete Davidson was asked if he’s planning to use his purchased boat for a posh party after the premiere of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

Yeah, if it’s not sunk! I have no idea what’s going on with that thing. Me and Colin were very stoned a year ago and bought a ferry. And we’re figuring it out. Hopefully, it turns into a Transformer and gets the f—k out of there so I can stop paying for it!

Meanwhile, Ron Castellano, the duo’s partner and an architect, spoke with Curbed and revealed some important details about the Staten Island ferry boat. He was able to work with Davidson and Colin Jost because of a mutual friend, comedy club owner Paul Italia. He said of the pair’s roles:

They have input. They see everything. We have meetings as needed, sometimes twice a week, sometimes every three months. Right now, honestly, I’m trying to get the design work done as fast as possible. So I’ll just go away and do my thing, present it.”

Davidson once revealed that the ferry boat will have fancy hotels and restaurants, which Castellano further explained:

It’s going to have a lot of things. I think right now, we have six bars and two venues operated separately or combined. We have outdoor event space, we have restaurants — two restaurants. It’s a big boat, almost 300 feet long, 65,000 square feet. That’s one and a half times the size of Nine Orchard Hotel.”

With these elaborate plans, Davidson and Jost are finally putting their investment into use, and that ferry boat they purchased when they were too intoxicated won’t end up becoming a useless thing.

During their appearance at Saturday Night Live, Davidson and Jost made jokes about the ferry they purchased then with so much regret. The former called it “the windowless van of the sea.” He also quipped:

We’re boat people now, Colin. I mean, you always were. You look like you own a yacht that they rent out for rap videos.”

Jost added, “We are having trouble finding a place to dock the boat, though.” Throughout the segment, the boys made suggestive jokes about the boat which ended up becoming the most memorable part of the sketch.

The plans for the ferry boat are still underway and the renovation is in progress, so it might take quite a while to finally see the furnished luxury boat that was accidentally bought by Davidson and Jost.
