In an interview, Marc Guggenheim, known for creating the Arrowverse gave his blunt opinion that the MCU has to be rebooted entirely if they want to make it better again. Comparing Phase 4 and 5 to the initial three Phases of the MCU, Guggenheim thinks that the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars is actually a hard reboot of the $29 billion franchise!

Kevin Feige Has Too Much Content For The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Let’s face it. Marvel’s Phase 4 of the MCU wasn’t exactly the best Phase of the cinematic universe. The quality of the movies and series only seemed to deteriorate the further we went down the chaotic multiversal hole.

With all the chaos and the magic happening in the MCU, several people feel that it needs a hard reboot. The Arrowverse creator Marc Guggenheim even went as far as to state that Kevin Feige is essentially planning a reboot for many years and the time has indeed come. In an interview, Marc Guggenheim openly pointed out the problems with the MCU in present times.

Stating that the cinematic universe has become too chaotic, Guggenheim stated that the universe should be once again built from the ground up with a hard reboot of the $29 billion franchise.

“I’m like the biggest Marvel nerd ever, and I haven’t seen ‘Moon Knight’. I just can’t keep up. There’s just too much content. To me, the difference between Phase 4 and Phases 1 through 3 is fundamentally something very simple, which is you could even be watching ‘Infinity War’ without having seen the prior X number of movies.”

This isn’t something that is surprising since many people have often complained about his problem. With so much content to handle, people often miss out on some important stuff that could be a game-changer in the next movie or series. Well, Marc Guggenheim also believes that Kevin Feige is leading the MCU to a hard reboot with the release of the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars!

With a multiversal theory at play and limitless universes to explore, there’s just simply too much going on at the same time to keep up. The creator of the Arrowverse believes that Kevin Feige will lead everything to a big grandiose finale and then eliminate the entirety of the MCU with a cold hard reboot.

“My guess is what they are building up to, is the ‘Secret Wars’ that they’ve announced is not the ‘Secret Wars’ of the 1980s, it’s Jonathan Hickman’s ‘Secret Wars’ which basically was sort of like a reset for the Marvel Universe. So I think they are gonna, if they do what I expect them to do, they will end up pruning the tree,”

With the MCU projects facing delays due to the SAG-AFTRA strike and WGA’s protest, Avengers: Secret Wars is currently set for a release date of 7th May 2027 in theaters across the world.
