Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield returned to their Spider-Man roles in a multiversal adventure in the MCU film, Spider-Man: No Way Home. The duo alongside Tom Holland’s Spider-Man fought some of the iconic villains from the earlier Sony movies. Recent rumors suggest that this appearance might not be a one-time thing and the trio will reunite for another film. The best possibility of their reunion happening will be in the final film of the Multiverse Saga, Avengers: Secret Wars.
Tobey Maguire’s films were to continue beyond Spider-Man 3, however, creative differences led to Sam Raimi leaving the project and subsequent cancelation of the franchise. Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man films were not great from a critical perspective and Sony chose to sign a deal with the MCU rather than continuing with the film series.
Tobey Maguire And Andrew Garfield May Reunite For Another Spider-Man Adventure Soon
When Tom Holland‘s Peter Parker opened the multiversal portals in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans could almost guess that their biggest dreams were coming true. The film, which premiered in 2021, still takes audiences back to those memorable theatrical moments when Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire appeared on screen as alternate universe Spider-Man(s).
Ever since the film, most Spider-Man fans had one secret wish in their mind — to see the trio together again for another adventure. According to a recent scoop, that reunion might be happening sooner than fans expected. Marvel scooper, @MyTimeToShineH, tweeted under a GIF of Maguire and Garfield together in No Way Home, sharing, “They will meet again (SOON)”.

While the scooper did not get into the details and refused to answer fans’ questions about their cryptic statement. A few fans wanted to know whether the earlier Spider-Man actors will be returning in Holland’s Spider-Man 4. Others also expressed their doubt in the comments about whether that reunion could happen in Tom Hardy‘s Venom 3. Some even suggested that it could happen in Deadpool 3.
A section of fans also commented that their return made sense only if it happened in Avengers: Secret Wars. Maguire and Garfield in Secret Wars is a possibility that has been discussed over and over again in the Marvel discussion forums. While the possibility remains, many feel that the chances are highly unlikely.

While fans discuss their reunion projects, there are also calls made to revive their original films under Sony’s banner. Hugh Jackman And Ryan Reynolds May Join The Spider-Man Actors In Secret Wars
Ever since Deadpool & Wolverine became official at Marvel Studios, fans have been wondering when the two X-Men will get to interact with the Avengers. The studio is interested in bringing back Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds for movies beyond the upcoming Deadpool movie. In another tweet, scooper @MyTimeToShineH shared that Jackman reportedly told Marvel that he would appear in Secret Wars only if he gets to interact with two other heroes.
Jackman wanted interactions with Robert Downey Jr.‘s Iron Man and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. While Downey Jr.’s return to the MCU is a large question mark at this point, Maguire could definitely make his appearance. If this rumor is true, Marvel will have to bring Maguire back to convince Jackman to appear in Secret Wars.
