Whether it is the Golden Globes or the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Cillian Murphy has been bagging awards left and right for his performance in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. While this is incredible for the actor and his fans, other actors competing against Cillian Murphy have had it quite tough, especially Bradley Cooper. And now, chances are that Bradley Cooper will once again lose to Cillian Murphy at the 2024 Oscars if the predictions are true.

Cillian Murphy’s portrayal of J. Robert Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s recent masterpiece made a special place for itself in the hearts of fans and critics. The Irish actor was heavily praised for his performance and the hype has not entirely passed yet as Murphy continues to ride the wave of his success.

For his work in Oppenheimer, Murphy won his first SAG award, his first Golden Globe, and his first BAFTA! As of now, the actor does not have an Oscar sitting in his cabinet but if things continue on this route, the tenth of March will see Murphy lifting his very first Oscar in Los Angeles, California.

According to Kalshi’s Oscar predictions, Murphy is leading the race to win Best Actor at the 96th Academy Awards with an 84% chance of winning, at the moment of writing this. Murphy is followed by Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers) at 11% and Colman Domingo (Rustin) at 3%. Clearly, there is a huge gap between Murphy and the rest of the nominees, with Bradley Cooper not even in the second position.

While this is great news for the fans of Murphy, Cooper losing out on one award after the other for Maestro must be frustrating for the actor whose reactions to Murphy’s wins keep getting circulated on social media.

As for the Best Supporting Actor, there’s no surprise here that Robert Downey Jr. is leading the list with a 92% chance at the moment for Oppenheimer. He is followed by Ryan Gosling (Barbie) at 6%.

The Oscars have some of the finest artists as nominees this year. Therefore, it is going to be difficult to guess who takes the awards home. Talking about the Best Actress category, Kalshi’s predictions state that actress Lily Gladstone is in the lead to take the Oscar home.

Gladstone played the role of Mollie Burkhart in Killers of the Flower Moon and won many awards for her performance including a Golden Globe and a SAG award. According to the prediction, the chances for Gladstone’s winning the award are 62%. She is closely followed by Emma Stone who is nominated for Poor Things at 40%.

Shifting our direction to Best Supporting Actress, Da’Vine Joy Randolph is currently in the lead with a whopping 98% for The Holdovers with Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer) trailing her. Needless to say, the audience has a clear favorite!

Who takes the Oscar home and who does not will finally be revealed when the Academy Awards take place on March 10.
