Over the years, exclusives have defined the popularity of video game consoles. From Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation, every platform holder has assured that fans will get something special on their respective consoles to enjoy. Something that other consoles don’t have. Recently, Nintendo and Sony have pretty much won on that front. Games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Helldivers 2 are just ruling the sales charts. Xbox fans, on the other hand, are left wondering what to play.

They might have their answer; recently, Xbox boss Phil Spencer came up with an incredible piece of news. He suggests that a game that would give gamers a brief respite from not being able to play Helldivers 2 is now even closer to launch. That game is none other than Hellblade 2.

Hellblade 2 is on the way to distract Xbox gamers from Helldivers 2 woes!

Ninja Theory is an incredible video game developer. They developed some really outstanding games over the years. Games like Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, Heavenly Sword, and DMC: Devil May Cry really allowed them to distinguish themselves from others.

Yes, many do not consider DMC to be the mainline Devil May Cry title; some do not even consider it to be a game in that series. Still, it’s an incredible game to try one’s hands on—an incredible action game with mind-blowing combat mechanics.

Eventually, they went ahead and gave gamers their first-ever Indie AAA game. Hellblade 2 was, no doubt, something else. Besides looking incredible, it gave gamers a look into an unexpectedly grim and dark world. A world that many people live in nowadays, people who have psychosis.

Psychosis is a condition in which people start finding it hard to differentiate between what’s real and what’s not. This game went on to be a massive success, and it even won a BAFTA for its achievements. Its story, performance, visuals, and representation of psychosis were all lauded.

Now that Helldivers 2 is so popular, Xbox owners too want to try their hands on that game. They would probably get it someday, or not. But they would get one thing that is pretty excellent: Hellblade 2. Yes, this game is now even closer to the launch according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer.

I just love Ninja Theory and all the work that they do. Their craftsmanship is fantastic. I love how that game is coming together

It is a big deal for Xbox fans because this game would initially launch exclusively for Xbox series consoles and PC. No idea if it would ever make its way to PlayStation 5 or not, but it is well known that Microsoft is now trying to go multiplatform.

While there’s no doubt that Hellblade 2 would be an excellent game, which is evident from its recent trailers and such, the real feedback can only be given when it launches later this year. For fans excited for this game, it will be launching on May 21, 2024.

Can Hellblade 2 be a replacement for Helldivers 2?

The Helldivers community continues to prove how much they love the game

The petitions for bringing Helldivers 2 to Xbox are in full force. Gamers want that game on their preferred consoles. It makes sense too; it’s a multiplayer game, and the more consoles it releases, the larger its community gets.

But there are slim chances that Hellblade 2 can be a supplement to what Helldivers 2 provides. Hellblade is a limited story-based game, while Helldivers 2 is an ever-expanding live-service game. There is no comparison between them; one has a better story, and the other is just a never-ending shooter that’s incredibly fun.
