When Marvel Studios first shared the making of another sequel to the Ryan Reynolds-starrer Deadpool movie series, MCU fans were over the moon. Pumped up to see their favorite superhero once again on the big screens with an exciting new storyline leaving them ecstatic, fans have been getting a lot of rumors as well as updates about the upcoming third installment from the superhero series.
Yet, fans are hesitant to believe the rumors about the casting of Deadpool 3, the list of which was recently updated with Channing Tatum’s name under the category of playing one of the X-Men superheroes, Gambit.
Channing Tatum Rumored To Appear As Gambit In MCU’s Deadpool 3
Back in 2014, the Marvel Cinematic Universe had fans all giddied up with the news of Channing Tatum starring as one of the most incredible X-Men mutants: Gambit, in his own superhero movie. Looking forward to it, MCU fans were even willing to put up with the constantly delaying release dates of the film – that was, until they finally officially called off the project.
However, recent rumors have ignited hope in fans once again. According to a tweet by DeadpoolUpdate on X, Tatum just might make his appearance as the X-Men mutant in the film as a stunt double:

Although MCU fans are ecstatic this time as well, they are not sure whether to believe this rumor or not as they are afraid that their dreams might shatter once again just like the previous time.

Following this rumor, MCU fans are left in a split, unsure of whether to believe this rumor or not. While some are in favor of him and are sure of this rumor to be true keeping Ryan Reynolds‘ and Channing Tatum’s friendship in mind, others are simply calling it the restarting of the ‘multiverse of madness’ all over again.

One Twitter user even pointed out the absurdity of this rumor, considering how the SAG-AFTRA strike is still underway and no one knows when the film production is going to resume.

Regardless of it all, if these rumors are indeed true, then perhaps Channing Tatum just might end up making his appearance as Gambit in the MCU movie – even though it will be in the position of a stunt double.
Deadpool 3 is set to hit the theatres on the 3rd of May, 2024.
