2020 was a year that nobody could ever imagine living through. During this difficult time, many people used various coping mechanisms to counter the physical and mental toll to get through their period in isolation. As part of an initiative to get fans of celebrities together to overcome the effects of the pandemic, a bunch of Hollywood stars including Wonder Woman actor Gal Gadot sang a few bars of John Lennon’s anthem of Hope Imagine which was later complied into a video. But the celebrity’s effort to spread positivity earned backlash from comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan.

Sometimes, stars put their effort into bringing about a change but their intentions come back to bite them. DC star Gal Gadot and other celebrities were at the receiving end of comedian Joe Rogan’s caustic comments regarding a video that they were part of. The Wonder Woman actor and other Hollywood royalty were part of a video compilation that involved each star singing a bar of John Lennon’s Imagine to bring fans together after the pandemic had wreaked havoc on people mentally and physically.

But this idea was completely brought to the ground by podcast host Joe Rogan who criticized Gadot and her colleagues for being insensitive to the situation and unaware of the different problems that people around the world were going through. Not one to mince words, Rogan, in his podcast, said,

“This is not the time, when everyone’s granny is dying, you f*****g idiot, to sing, ‘Imagine there’s no heaven. It’s such a dumb move. ‘Listen, you’re awesome. I think you’re great. But that is a ridiculous idea. It is so lacking in self-awareness and so ridiculous,’”

Rogan went on to add that while Gadot’s Instagram post may have earned her 6.6 million views, he wished that someone close to the star had advised her that her post would get her flak.

Joe Rogan Had Words Of Praise For Rita Wilson

Comedian Joe Rogan made it clear in no uncertain terms about his views on celebrities and their actions during the pandemic. While the podcast host had harsh words of criticism for Gal Gadot’s Imagine cover, he had quite the contrary reaction to Rita Wilson’s demeanor during the pandemic.

Wilson and her husband Tom Hanks were one of the first star couples to publicly announce that they had been affected by Covid and kept their fans posted on their progress and recovery. Wilson to engage with her fans while in isolation, posted an informal video in which she was seen rapping with Naughty by Nature while looking at her natural self. According to Joe Rogan,

“It was awesome! It was fun. No makeup. She’s having fun. And it’s so obvious she wasn’t trying to be anything other than have fun.”

Fellow comic Tom Segura who agreed with Rogan’s opinion on Gal Gadot, also concurred with him on Rita Wilson’s engaging attempt to allow fans to peek into her world.
