Similarly, there was one time when Jennifer Lawrence absolutely exploded over people talking about a dress she wore on a press tour for her movie. As the actress looked stunning in a gorgeous, sleeveless, black Versace dress, people started showering her with sympathy. Why? Well, they believed Jennifer Lawrence was dressed inappropriately for the cold weather whereas her male co-stars were covered in coats. People thought it was unfair toward the actress, however, she would beg to differ!

During a press tour for Red Sparrow, Jennifer Lawrence rocked a beautiful Versace gown with a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit. While she looked stunning, people began commenting about how it was unfair that she was made to wear a revealing dress in cold while her male co-stars were covered from head to toe. Owing to this, Lawrence took to Facebook to call out the comments stating that there was no way she was going to cover the gown with a jacket and a scarf. She also stated that while she was in the open for just five minutes, she was ready to stand in the snow due to her love for fashion.

“Wow. I don’t really know where to get started on this ‘Jennifer Lawrence wearing a revealing dress in the cold’ controversy. This is not only utterly ridiculous, I am extremely offended. That Versace dress was fabulous, you think I’m going to cover that gorgeous dress up with a coat and a scarf? I was outside for five minutes. I would have stood in the snow for that dress because I love fashion and that was my choice.”

Lawrence went on to say that this wasn’t feminism and was downright sexist as it was her choice to wear the dress the way she wore it, even if that meant being cold. She stated that overreacting about silly topics instead of worrying about real problems is stopping the world from moving forward.

“This is sexist, this is ridiculous, this is not feminism. Overreacting about everything someone says or does, creating controversy over silly innocuous things such as what I choose to wear or not wear, is not moving us forward. It’s creating silly distractions from real issues. Get a grip people. Everything you see me wear is my choice. And if I want to be cold THAT’S MY CHOICE TOO!”

Well, now you know. Lawrence, and only Lawrence, gets to choose whether she wants to wear a dress or not. There’s nothing anyone else can really do about it!

Lawrence went as far as to say that people worrying about her dress in the name of feminism weren’t really feminists. The Passengers actress stated that things like this make people despise an honest movement. She went on to applaud actual feminist movements like Time’s Up, an initiative created to raise money for s*xual harassment victims. She stated on The Howard Stern Show,

“All of these people trying to be feminist, you’re not – you’re loud, you’re annoying, you have no point- and what you also do, you make people hate a movement. Something like Time’s Up, the women who are running Time’s Up and who have started it, they’re actually changing legislation, they are actually really getting stuff done.”

Lawrence stated that wearing a dress didn’t go against feminism and that people can’t actually be that “f*cking stupid.” Well, remind us never to mess with Lawrence!
