But despite the film’s shared title, the trailer keeps Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine under wraps. We only catch his stunning hairstyle in a white coat and shadowy figure– a nod to his infamous alter ego, Patch. This persona comes alive whenever Wolverine is in Madripoor, featuring an eyepatch and a dapper white suit complete with a bowtie.

Wolverine’s Mysterious White Blazer Sparks Patch Rumors

In a quick scene, appears wearing a classic white blazer, reminiscent of the lesser-known persona- Wolverine: Patch. Though it’s easy to miss that scene, those who caught the easter egg will know that it is from the miniseries Wolverine: Patch that took place in Madripoor.

One eagle-eyed Marvel fan took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state the theory.

This fictional island was previously seen in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, further fueling the speculation. Madripoor is a fictional island in maritime Southeast Asia where Logan is known by the locals as Patch – because of his eyepatch.

In Madripoor, he adopted the alias Patch, using it as a disguise and avoiding his mutant power to blend in with the city’s underworld. Known for its pirates and criminal allure, Madripoor promises an exciting backdrop for this upcoming adventure.

New Wolverine Variant Revealed in Deadpool & Wolverine Movie?

After the exciting teaser of Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool & Wolverine, industry insider MyTimeToShineHello spilled the beans that the Wolverine variant featured in the video is portrayed by a different actor. The speculation has been rampant among fans, with many speculating that it could be either Taron Egerton from Kingsman or Daniel Radcliffe from Harry Potter. These two actors have been swirling in rumors as top contenders to take over the iconic role from Hugh Jackman.

They are pretty much aware of the buzz circulating online; in fact, Egerton told Total Film via The Direct:

“I’m too old for it now. I think that ship has probably sailed. Yeah, that whole Wolverine thing – I get asked about it, and no matter what you say, it gets turned into what people want you to say about it. I’m not going to be the guy to play Wolverine.”

Similarly, Daniel Radcliffe debunked the speculation in an interview with Vanity Fair, explaining that while he appreciates being associated with the legendary hero, he is not bulking up for the Marvel role.

I got buff because I am obsessive, and I want to… You’ve seen my parents, they’re like insane fitness people. So that’s just been passed on. But no. No Wolverine. Flattered, but no.”

Both actors, if involved in Deadpool 3, would naturally want to keep the surprise intact for the audience. If the insider’s information holds true, fans can anticipate the introduction of a new Wolverine, potentially continuing the legacy of Hugh Jackman’s iconic portrayal in the future MCU.

Aside from Wolverine’s variant making a cameo, there will also be an onslaught of surprise appearances from other popular X-Men characters, such as Professor X, Magneto, Storm, Cyclops, and Jean Grey.
