Tom Hardy was last seen in the iconic BBC series Peaky Blinders as Alfie Solomons. The actor was reportedly in ties with Disney to release a movie based on the story of bike riders and a brotherhood with a love for motorbikes.
Although the movie was expected to fail, fans are now confused about whether Disney’s holding back on The Bikeriders was a good move or Disney is keeping all the bad movies for itself while lending all the good ones to other studios!
Is Disney Holding Back Tom Hardy’s Good Movie?
Fans vividly remember that it was in 2022 that Disney and Tom Hardy announced an iconic movie titled The Bikeriders. Written and directed by Jeff Nicholas, the story follows the gang members as a passion for motorbikes slowly turns into a full-out murderous gang throughout the decade.

Although the story is quite intriguing, the impressive thing about this film is the ensemble cast. With Tom Hardy, Norman Reedus, and, Austin Butler alongside several others, the cast of the film is one of the primary reasons for the positive reviews. Since it has been over a year, there are reports that the film is “being shopped” and given to other distributors (which is a bad thing).
Disney hasn’t dropped the movie, it has a distribution deal with New Regency, but the film is still being shopped… https://t.co/EyyyhR8ojG

Horribly disappointing. But would hope Warner Brothers or someone else would pick it up and make Disney as disappointed that they dropped it!!

Disney is garbage, they ruin everything. Trust me it’s a blessing, they can find better distributors.

With notable insider Jeff Sneider in on the scene, The Bikeriders seems to be a great movie but due to some conflicts, finance New Regency is out now looking for a release partner and even considering the possibility of a streaming release.
New Regency Cannot Afford Tom Hardy’s Flop
With the film already made, financier New Regency is said to have opened up to all possibilities for the release of the film. Notable insider Jeff Sneider wrote on his blog how The Bikeriders doesn’t fall into a good or a bad movie!
“Though The Bikeriders currently sits at 85 percent fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, awards pundits felt it was more of a commercial play than an Oscar contender, and the film hasn’t rated too highly on the trades’ prediction charts.”
Whatever the case may be, there are rumors that 20th Century Studios has picked up the film, and is set for a release date of 1 December 2023 across the world. The early screenings of the film state a rating of 7.6/10 on IMDB and a whopping 85% on Rotten Tomatoes.
