According to Daily Mail, Timothée Chalamet embraced a casual look as he took on the role of Bob Dylan in the singer-songwriter’s biopic, spotted in New York City on Sunday sporting a gambler hat and fingerless gloves. The 28-year-old actor, known for his role in Beautiful Boy, fully embodied the music legend, even carrying a guitar for filming.

Dressed in baggy blue jeans, a tartan shirt, and a khaki wool-collared jacket, Chalamet’s ensemble was completed with a brown and dark orange knitted scarf, a cord fabric gambler hat, and scuffed brown leather boots. His portrayal of Dylan showcases his dedication, having learned to play the guitar for a previous role in Luca Guadagnino’s Call Me by Your Name.

Surrounded by a large crew, Chalamet was seen beside a vintage car during the shoot, capturing scenes depicting Bob Dylan’s pivotal moments. The upcoming James Mangold-directed biopic is set to focus on Dylan’s controversial decision to transition to electric music in 1965.

The same photos on set were shared on Film Updates on Twitter and they ended up getting all sorts of responses from fans.

Timothée Chalamet’s success has garnered attention from industry analysts like Mary Parent, a producer on Dune, and Jeff Block of Exhibitor Relations, who have recognized his standout qualities. Parent, speaking to Variety, remarked,

“We can count on one or two hands, in any age range, the people who are legitimate movie stars. Timothée is absolutely that.”

Similarly, Block, an analyst, emphasized Chalamet’s stardom, especially as Dune: Part Three’s script nears completion. Block noted,

“You’ve got Glen Powell and Chalamet ushering in a new talent base of bankable stars. That’s wonderful for audiences, but even more so, a massive relief for the industry, which has been relying on aging talent for far too long.”

Chalamet’s ascent in Hollywood may be unparalleled. Compared to contemporaries like Tom Holland, he has consistently delivered successful films, imbuing them with an aura of triumph. With a slew of critically acclaimed projects already under his belt, Chalamet appears poised to enter a commercially lucrative phase in his career.
