Stewart has recently got her name added to the ever-growing list of celebrities who have spoken against the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the actress has played a fair number of great roles in the past, she has not appeared as a superhero yet and some of her thoughts are lessening her chances of appearing as one.

Kristen Stewart‘s on-screen chemistry with Robert Pattinson translated into an off-screen romance. However, Stewart’s affair with director Rupert Sanders in 2012, while working on the movie Snow White and the Huntsman caused the couple to split. Despite apologizing publicly, the affair made the actress the subject of huge media backlash. The following years saw a lull in her acting career.

Stewart has never been one to be stopped by adversities so even coming out as bisexual in 2017 could not affect her career. She has continued to give amazing performances in movies like Spencer, the biographical drama film in which she starred as Diana, Princess of Wales. The movie earned her nominations for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe.

Her most recent venture is Rose Glass’ romantic thriller Love Lies Bleeding. In an interview with El Pais promoting the movie, she made comments that might affect her chances of doing a Marvel movie. She said:

“I don’t want to make films that are just entertainment. Making movies is a lot of fun, but having to make the same movie over and over again is demoralizing, dehumanizing and horrible.”

Although Marvel is one of the most beloved franchises, it cannot be denied that some themes are repeated in the movies. This is probably what the Panic Room actress might have been trying to hint at. So, her chances of appearing in a Marvel movie have now diminished.

Stewart is quite known as an actress who speaks her mind without worrying how others might take it. This boldness of hers is also visible in the roles she plays. In the interview, she also gave her opinion on the type of movie the industry likes making. She said:

“In today’s movies everything is a mixture of known quantities from films that have been successful. If there is no equation that guarantees that it will work, it is very difficult to get a budget for it. We work in an industry that wants to make money and that makes it difficult to introduce a bit of novelty.”

The actress further said that she likes to make movies that have novelty. She also said that, previously, she was more focused on making risky movies, but now, she is going to change that.
