Ragnarok was the third instalment in the Thor franchise but the first to break records with positive responses. Unlike Thor: 1 and Thor: The Dark World, it was brimming with comedy, action, and a thrilling plot. Taika Waititi’s unique vision has landed him the director chair even for the fourth instalment. 80% of the scenes in Ragnarok was improvised, thus making it a fun experience for both the cast and fans.

Tom Hiddleston Recalls An Improvised Scene

One of the most iconic scenes in the Thor franchise is ‘Get Help’. In this, the famous siblings replay a childhood game to escape powerful guards of an alien planet. Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth played it out incredibly well and delivered one of the most memorable and hilarious scenes of the MCU. But it turns out that this sequence was never a part of the script. Loki actor revealed how Taika improvised the idea and made the stars build their dialogues on the spot.

According to Hiddleston, “It all came from Taika Waititi’s brilliant and inventive imagination. Taika came in in the morning and said, ‘It would be really fun if you came into the room and pretended it was a game you used to play as kids.’ As we worked it out, it was something completely improvised. It gives you such an insight into the way Taika works.”

No matter how many times we watch this scene, Thor’s gloriously tossing his helpless prankster brother at their foes still cracks us up. But now is the time to move on as both Loki and Thor are separately continuing with their journey in the MCU, meaning that fans will not get to see this iconic duo in Love and Thunder. This love and hate brotherly bond has given us many bitter-sweet memories to cherish. While the God of Mischief’s current mission leads him to the multiverse, Thor will return in 2022 with Jane Foster, Valkyrie, Gorr the God Butcher, and Zeus in Thor: Love and Thunder.
