Ubisoft and Microsoft Deal Agreement in Detail

Ubisoft Plus
Ubisoft+ Library is About to Expand With More Brilliant Games

Ubisoft has agreed a deal in principle with Microsoft for the rights to add Activision games to their subscription service, Ubisoft+. This is bound to add an array of exciting Activision games to their already massive list, and will also allow Ubisoft to cloud-stream Activision games to third-party vendors and consoles including Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. Speaking of consoles, Ubisoft+ Multi Access will allow Xbox players to quickly jump into Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, The Division 2, the Far Cry series, the Watch_Dogs series, and much more.

According to Ubisoft Director of Subscriptions Mr. Philippe Tremblay, the subscription will continue to get bigger and most importantly, will bring day-one access to a whole lot of new releases. This is bound to challenge the GamePass subscription quite a bit. Day One access to new releases from Xbox Gaming Studios and partner studios is one of the major bragging rights that GamePass had all this time, and with Ubisoft+ bringing a very similar approach to the console players, there is bound to be some healthy competition between the two subscribers.

Mr. Philippe mentioned that gamers who sign up for Ubisoft+ Multi Access through Xbox will also have access to the complete library of the games on PC. This move will help desktop gamers earn exclusive in-game rewards. Xbox’s GamePass subscription has also slightly increased the subscription rates, with the revised yearly subscription rate for GamePass at $16.99, while Ubisoft+ will cost $17.99 yearly, on Xbox.

Ubisoft+ PC Access will cost $14.99 and will be available on PC via Ubisoft Connect, including all Ubisoft games in their highest edition along with the DLCs. Ubisoft+ Multi Access will cost $17.99 and will include a selection of their games on Xbox, along with all the games available on PC. Considering the similar rates between the two subscriptions, and with an expanded lineup of Activision Blizzard games being added to the list, there might be an increase in Ubisoft+ subscribers as well. More about the upcoming games below.

It might just be a conundrum for gamers to choose between the Xbox GamePass subscription and the stand-alone Ubisoft+ subscription service on the Xbox but at least for all the Activision fans out there, the choice might just be quite clear. The Ubisoft and Microsoft deal is bound to appease the gaming community with healthy competition between the two subscription services bringing out more games for less.
