The release date of Star Wars Outlaws is right around the corner and the gaming community is ready to dive back into a galaxy far, far away amidst the Galactic Civil War. Fans of the live-action films will be pleased to know this story will take them back in time; however, far from the conflict between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire.

This video game is one of the few original stories not directly tied to the Skywalker Saga and takes full advantage of the lore without constraint. The gaming community can discover cool items inspired by other adjacent projects.

Massive Entertainment is near the finish line to ship this game to store shelves and it has been a long time coming. Unfortunately, a few lucky players managed to get a physical copy early as they did not expect the hassle and pain they would have to endure and realized after hours of downloading Star Wars Outlaws is useless without a stable internet connection.

Despite the hassle, other early reviewers made the most of their time exploring distant regions and planets that the films never had the time to showcase. While players were out and minding their business, some of them came across a familiar weapon featured in a popular Disney+ series, and little easter eggs like this can bridge the gaps and endorse consistency.

Din Djarin was often seen carrying a Phase-Pulse Short Rifle in the earlier seasons of The Mandalorian and fans will be pleased to see the iconic series honored in this way. It is worth noting the developers of Respawn Entertainment were working on a new project that focuses on Mandalorian culture but was canceled in favor of an Iron Man video game.

Perhaps this is one of the upsides of the project after the early players ran into countless performance issues. The gaming community could overlook the visible and known errors while beholding the developers’ efforts to unify the Star Wars universe across different mediums through easter eggs and references.

The developers will most likely release a series of patches to give the players a smooth performance. Hopefully, it will be worth the agony.

Perhaps the developers saw the opportunity to honor the canceled project through a simple easter egg. Hopefully, fans will find the Phase-Pulse Short Rifle and use it accordingly honoring Din Djarin’s way of life as a bounty hunter in a galaxy full of scum and villainy.

The developers could have sprinkled a few more easter eggs for the gaming community to discover. Perhaps these will include new rewards and benefits for gameplay like Kay Vess sharing a meal with her furry companion, Nix.

Ubisoft knew the risk of developing an original story set during one of the greatest moments in Star Wars history and didn’t want to rely on the films as a crutch. It is good to see a different side of the galaxy from the perspective of a civilian who could encounter different concepts.

Hopefully. the developers found a way to honor other projects without making it too much fan service. Mando fans will likely go out of their way to acquire this weapon and say the phrase: this is the way.
