There are lots of similarities between anime and superheroes. But few come close to Attack on Titan’s Mikasa and the MCU’s Black Widow. While there has always been a rift between anime fans and superhero fans regarding which world is more powerful, they cannot deny that many characters from either universe are adapted or inspired by the other.
For example, All Might is inspired by DC comics’ Superman, and the Saiyans of Dragonball Z are based on Sun Wukong. While these are distant resemblances, a few have an uncanny resemblance to each other. Out of these few, there is the MCU’s Black Widow and Attack on Titan’s Mikasa Ackerman, who have the same characteristics and function in the same way.
MCU’s Black Widow Resembles Attack on Titan’s Mikasa Ackerman
Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow, is a former Russian assassin. Later, she was recruited by Nick Fury to join SHIELD, and then his legion of superheroes, known as the Avengers. Even though Black Widow does not have special abilities or superhuman powers like his co-superheroes, she is quite capable in hand-to-hand combat and guns and is a great strategist. Stealth is one of her biggest assets. Natasha Romanoff is the best in her field of work.
On the other hand, Mikasa Ackerman is a young female Scout who kills Titans in cold blood. She can take on a horde of Titans and come out unscathed. Mikasa Ackerman is also a good soldier when it comes to rescue missions. She is the second-best in her profession after Levi Ackerman. Both Black Widow and Mikasa Ackerman approach their enemies in the same manner, and both of them are quite adept at close-range combat.
Apart from having a blank look on their faces, they are seldom seen smiling. Both of them are one of the most reliable female characters in their universe and are ready to sacrifice themselves whenever required.
More Resemblance Between MCU and Attack on Titan
Not only Black Widow and Mikasa Ackerman but there are also other similarities between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Attack on Titan world. Erwin Smith looks like Captain America. stout figure with blonde hair, both leading the lines from the front, and both are respected by their co-workers.
Attack on Titan is such a small portion of the anime world. People will find hundreds of similarities if they compare the whole animeverse with the MCU. More uncanny resemblances might come in the future, but the resemblance between Natasha Romanoff and Mikasa Ackerman is hard to ignore. Even if they interchanged their worlds, no one would notice it except for their hair color.
