Valorant has gained a lot of popularity ever since it was released as a free-to-play tactical shooter, which was, in many ways, similar to and different from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. CSGO veterans could immediately feel a sense of familiarity when they see or play the game.

The weapon arsenal has been the same in the four years the game has been alive and kicking. A few months ago, there was a leak about a new weapon. The leak went live in October 2023 and reported a weapon called Outlaw. Earlier, it was suspected that Episode 7 Act 3 would see the gun going live as an update, along with Iso, the newest agent in the lineup. Now, a leaker has posted new information about the gun that will be released in Episode 8.

A New Sniper Called Outlaw Will Allegedly Grace Valorant’s Arsenal

Valorant is one of the current scenario’s most popular tactical FPS games.

As reported earlier in October 2023, the weapon is a Sniper called Outlaw. Since Valorant‘s release in 2020, there has never been an addition to its arsenal. In October, the weapon was leaked accidentally during a skin showcase for the title. This occurred when the gameplay that was being recorded had the gun in the buy menu.

The current options in the game for choosing a Sniper Rifle are limited to the Marshal, which costs 950 points in Valorant‘s in-game currency, while buying an Operator costs 4,700 points. The newest addition to the list, Outlaw, will be placed somewhere in the middle.

The gun is expected to come at a price tag of 2400 points, offering the middle ground between the two choices, which will most likely affect Valorant‘s meta. Some leakers have now shed light on the weapon, one being ValorLeaks. The leaker shared a snapshot of the weapon model and its damage statistics. This is what the leaker posted in the tweet:

Introducing the Outlaw | #VALORANT | DAMAGE: Head – 238 Body – 140 Legs – 119 | Mag Size: 2, 10 in Reserve | 1.25s. Equip Time, 2.75 Firerate, 80% running speed, COST: 2400 Credits

If one looks at the statistics, it looks impressive for the price, and it seems people will most certainly try their hand at The Sniper as soon as it launches with Episode 8 on January 10. While it isn’t as brutal regarding firepower as the Operator for apparent reasons, it is undoubtedly a cut above Marshal. The weapon was teased officially in the trailer titled “Reckoning” for Season 2 of Valorant, which can be found here.

It isn’t sure how the weapon will feel when wielded in Valorant because, numbers aside, in the end, a weapon’s quality in an FPS as complex as Valorant is only determined in real time. When it comes to the ability to no-scope the gun, it is undoubtedly reminiscent of Shorty, the sawed-off shotgun in Valorant, because of the magazine housing two bullets.

Apart from the weapon, a new agent is also expected to be added to the agent lineup after Iso was added last time during Season 7 Act 3. It is unclear when a new agent will be added to the lineup, especially considering how Iso was added just a few months ago. The game usually sees a new agent in 5-6 months, so there is still some time before we see an addition to the agents’ gallery in the title. So, data miners have revealed that they have spotted a new agent in the files.

The new agent is going by “SmokeDancer,” which is more likely than not a codename for an agent that will be added further on, most probably during one of the acts of Episode 8. If we consider the name, it feels like the agent’s abilities will have something related to smoking, which will place him in the controller category.

But Riot Games has yet to confirm anything of this sort through any channel or medium whatsoever. Regardless, the new weapon confirmed to be added to Valorant in Episode 8 will refresh players consistently while playing the game.
