Red Dead Redemption 2 from Rockstar Games is one of the most popular open-world games, and even after five years of its release, the game is still going strong. Players have been exploring the in-game world and following the exploits of Arthur Morgan against the government, rival gangs, and more.

The world in Red Dead Redemption 2 is full of canyons and cliffs, and falling off of them results in significant fall damage. However, players have found an exploit that helps save them from any fall damage, and it includes the weirdest thing, vomiting, which for many won’t even make sense unless tried.

There are a number of causes of death that players have died of in Red Dead Redemption 2, and out of those falling off a cliff and breaking almost all the bones in your body is the most common. While that was a headache for a long time, players have now found a workaround for that, and that is making them sick and vomiting, which can avoid fall damage and save their HP. Players are calling this trick “vomit roping.”

As shared by Gamerficial, players eat a specific plant or herb; in this case, they are eating “bullrush,” which makes them sick and vomit. While eating, players jump off the cliff, and it creates a rope of vomit, eradicating fall damage and leaving players with full HP. The shared video shows that this works with both Arthur and John.

Although there are mods that prevent fall damage, this is the easiest and “sickest” exploit players have found to save HP in the game. However, it isn’t the puking that saves the players from fall damage. There is a technicality behind this: as players eat the herb and jump right after the eating animation begins, the herb makes them puke, and the puking animation overrides the falling animation, which prevents the damage when players land on the ground.

There are also other herbs that players can use for this trick, but since bullrush takes effect almost instantly, if there’s enough airtime, it makes them land safely. Other herbs could do this too, but they might need more time to take effect, and when they do, there are chances you might already be on the ground, dead. It cannot be said for certain why this exploit works, but players are also using it for several other things, such as getting off a cliff to complete quests or to reach places to save time.

Many players had no idea that they could do such a thing in Red Dead Redemption 2 and were happy to see it, adding that they would be trying this in their next playthrough. Some compared it to a Spider-Man stunt, and some joked that it was very realistic and added that they needed to try it in real life, but that is not recommended, not that it needs to be told.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has plenty of things for players to do, from facing governments to engaging in fights with rival gangs to recreational activities in the Western world such as hunting, fishing, and much more. If you ever need the use of bungee jumping, this “vomit roping” trick is your best shot. Although Rockstar Games hasn’t been very happy with mods in the game, it wouldn’t mind you using this “sick” trick to get a little advantage.

Red Dead Redemption 2 saw a huge surge in player numbers last month, with more than 73,000 concurrent players on Steam and also reaching Steam’s best-seller list. The game also crossed 57 million in sales since its release, with the entire franchise grossing more than 81 million.
