Tom Holland claimed he knew more about the Harry Potter franchise than J.K. Rowling

The Marvel star spoke to BBC Radio 1 a few years ago and told host Ali Plumb about his excitement at the prospect of attending a Harry Potter-themed quiz in a London pub. Holland even stuck his neck out and posed a challenge to Rowling herself when he said,

“I think I would smash that. I think I might know more about Harry Potter than J.K. Rowling. I am obsessed with Harry Potter”

A year later though, he was made to eat humble pie on BBC Radio 1 again when he was challenged to a Harry Potter quiz on the radio channel. When asked to name the magical creature that manifests in front of people who have witnessed death, the celebrity mumbled and stumbled his way through the answer aided by his host and said,

”Oh, it’s that horsey thing. It’s called argal… no a festile…a festral… oh a thestral! That’s what it is!”

As the questions became more pointed and tough, Holland quickly realized that he had a long way to go before claiming to be a bigger master at the game than the prolific author of the novels.

Tom Holland On Why Privacy Is Important In His Romance With Zendaya

Holland in an interview with GQ, explained why he felt the need to protect his relationship with his Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star. He confessed that there were certain important reasons that stopped him from talking about their love story, which included giving Zendaya the respect she deserved.

“I’ve always been really adamant to keep my private life private because I share so much of my life with the world anyway. We sort of felt robbed of our privacy. It’s not a conversation that I can have without her, you know, I respect her too much. This isn’t my story. It’s our story. And we’ll talk about what it is when we’re ready to talk about it together.”

The Euphoria actor also weighed in on her boyfriend’s opinion and said that she believed their relationship demanded that they enjoy the companionship without any outside pressures. Meanwhile, fans are happy to witness the two stars glitter together at various red carpet-appearances.
