The Sci-fi adventure narrative of Kaiju No. 8 centers on Kafka Hibino, a man who, after consuming a kaiju, acquires the ability to transform into one of these creatures. He now has to use his power to navigate trying to join the Anti-Kaiju Defense Force that exterminates kaiju to keep a promise he made to a childhood friend.
Kaiju No. 8 is one of the best-selling mangas of all time, with over 11 million copies in circulation, and as the series is making its way in the anime world, the Director of the Kaiju No.8 anime shared a few words with the fans. He explained to them how the series helped him and how it would resonate with all the viewers.
Kaiju No. 8 Director is a Big Fan of the Manga Series
A special message was shared by Kaiju No. 8’s official X(Formerly Twitter) account talking about the release of the anime series in 2023. In the message, Kaiju No. 8’s anime director Shigeyuki Miya talked about how Naoya Matsumoto’s series and its main character Kafka Hibino helped him when he felt bleak.
Miya stated:
“We are in the midst of turbulent times, and many people feel as if they are the only ones being left behind as the ‘normal’ things we used to know are disappearing one by one. To be honest, I felt the same way. At that time, I suddenly read Kaiju No. 8. I instantly became a big fan of Kafka, the main character who used to be on this side of things, and the passionate ensemble drama. After going through various twists and turns, I have reached the point where I am today.”
According to Miya, many people feel lonely and left behind as the world is moving too fast for them. He felt the same thing and at that time he started reading Kaiju No. 8 manga which helped him a lot in reaching the point where he is today. He believes that the series will do the same thing for the audience.

Further talking about Kaiju No. 8, director Miya explained that the manga series has been immensely popular and because of this there will be a lot of pressure on the anime series in terms of animation, cast, and more. However, as the entire staff is a big fan of the series they will try their best to make it one of the best anime series.
