Lady Gaga has always been quite an inspiration to many when it comes to her exceptional taste in fashion. Renowned for redesigning her image and showcasing her multifacetedness in entertainment, the singer-songwriter-actress stands as a unique icon in every field she delves into. And as much as she cares for and maintains herself, Gaga’s care inevitably encompasses her family as well.

This was evident during the current President of the United States of America, Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony held in January 2021, when Lady Gaga was notably forced to wear a bulletproof dress to perform at the event because of fear for her family since “it was a scary time in this country.”

Just like almost every other outfit of hers, the Schiaparelli dress that Lady Gaga wore to Joe Biden‘s inauguration ceremony in 2021 went viral as well.

However, not many people know that the outfit consisting of a voluminous red skirt and a fitted jacket sporting a giant golden dove on it actually had a vest sewn inside of it as well.

For those who don’t know, this is true, and the House of Gucci star admitted to it herself. As it turns out, Gaga wore that specific customized dress because of her security and to make her family members who were present at the event more confident.

While talking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, she shared the same as she said:

“It was a scary time in this country,” Gaga said. “And I care a lot about my family. And as a performer, I understand that I put myself in all types of dangerous situations in order to do what I love. And so I did that for myself, but for my family, as well, so that my mom and dad and my sister would feel confident.”

However, even though that time saw massive “rage” from people for quite a lot of reasons, as Gaga described it, and she had to go to extremes just for the sake of her security, the Bloody Mary singer still felt the moment when she performed to be “one of the proudest moments I’ve ever had.”

Adding to this, she further continued to express how important that moment was for her, and for the entire country. Talking to Stephen Colbert, she said:

“In a lot of ways, I felt like that day was a revolution for this country,” she said. “And a real opportunity for us to look past the resistance and look forward into a time when we can be kinder, and we can be braver as a nation, as people.”

Well, being proud of such a feat is one thing, but this very event made Lady Gaga spill another secret fact about herself: Had she not chosen singing as her profession, she would have most probably been a “combat journalist”!

Besides making her gush on and on about just how important that specific event meant to her, performing at Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony inspired Lady Gaga to reveal another secret about what she would have been if not a singer: A combat journalist.

During an interview with British Vogue about the same Schiaparelli dress, Gaga then let out this secret desire of hers as she said:

“Singing in a Schiaparelli bulletproof dress. I don’t know if people know this about me, but if I weren’t who I am today, I would have been a combat journalist. That was one of my dreams. When I was at the Capitol, the day before the inauguration, I remember walking around and looking for evidence of the insurrection.”

While seeing Lady Gaga as a combat journalist would have truly been quite a sight, we’re still glad the singer, songwriter, and even actress chose entertainment as her profession, for if she didn’t, the world would have been devoid of her spectacular versatility and talent in the entertainment industry!
