Though through his podcast he enlightens everyone with many news, his main profession is his UFC commentary for which he is widely sought. Once Joe Rogan invited the most famous person on planet Earth, the multi-billionaire, Elon Musk, and their episode was one of the most interesting ones out there. And in the interview, they talked about Musk’s one the best inventions, Tesla, and its super sophisticated software for auto driving.
Joe Rogan and Elon Musk on Tesla’s Auto-Pilot Mode
Joe Rogan on one of his multiple episodes with Elon Musk asked him about the dangerous feature of the Tesla model where one can drive the car without even touching the wheel. The software installed does all the work, from reading the traffic to turning the lights on or off to braking in traffic. And many have misused this feature to the extreme where it can be seen that many were even sleeping in the car while the car was in auto-pilot mode driving across the country.
A video was captured where one individual was sleeping without a day’s care in his Tesla and the car was driving on one of the busiest roads in San Francisco. Joe Rogan took this opportunity to target Elon Musk about this incident and asked him about the auto-pilot scenario to which Elon Musk was slightly taken aback. Musk replied that the issue has already been resolved as a new update has been made to the model where if a driver keeps his hands off the steering wheel, the car will slowly come to a pause and turn on the emergency lights.
This will reduce the number of people abusing the auto-pilot mode and will be more attentive to the road and thus reducing the risks of getting into an accident and harming any other individual, upon hearing this update from Musk, Joe Rogan found it a bit hilarious. The auto-pilot mode in Tesla was indeed a godly software as it assisted in steering the car within any given road and was also extremely sophisticated regarding traffic awareness.
Elon Musk Loses His Title of World’s Richest Man
At the end of last year, in December 2022, Elon Musk was the richest person alive and his business was booming with his Tesla, SpaceX, and his newly acclaimed Twitter. After Musk bought Twitter for an enormous amount of $44 billion, he put his attention mainly on Twitter and was too busy for his other companies. This caused his Tesla shares to fall in value, which ultimately caused him to drop down from being the richest man alive and give this position to the chief executive of Louis Vuitton, Bernard Arnault.
During that time, Musk had an estimated net worth of around $185 billion from which he dropped down as Arnault overtook him and is currently evaluated at nearly $215 billion. Though Musk has mostly recovered from his fall and is currently closing to the $200 billion mark. Musk’s fall was because his Tesla share was cut in half in its stock prices as it fell from $340 to $160 overnight. This caused Musk to lose $7 billion from his fortune.
