Helldivers 2 players fought hard on the battlefield for 5 days as everyone tried their best to complete the last Major Order. The Major Order required players to decommission 2,000,000,000 Automatons, which will be then melted down and reconstructed into a new Stratagem called MD-17 Anti-Tank Mines. Unfortunately, the community was only able to complete 78% of the goal but players are not upset as decommissioning over 1.5 billion is also an impressive achievement!

It is to be noted that there was chaos in the community when many players ignored the Major Order and continued to fight Terminid. This provoked a lot of players as the Helldivers 2 subreddit was flooded with criticism against players who were disobeying orders. Nonetheless, players have to accept that some Major Orders cannot be completed, although failing this one has escalated to “The Second Galactic War.

Initially, many players struggled with fighting the bots but this just shows that the community is making good progress. Unfortunately, this Major Order left the community divided as many players ignored it and fought the Terminid faction instead. Given that a significant portion of the players were not killing Automatons, it is indeed an achievement.

In a recent post on the official Helldivers 2 Discord, community manager Baskinator revealed that The Second Galactic War has escalated because players failed the last Major Order, adding that “all conflict leading up to this was merely an elaborate special operation.” So, the community should actually prepare themselves for a much bigger threat.

For those who are wondering what happens to the MD-17 Anti-Tank Mines Stratagem: it is definitely not the end as the Stratagem will return in the future as a reward for another Major Order. Right now, the community should focus on the latest Major Order, which has ordered players to keep Aesir Pass, Vernen Wells, Heeth, and Angel’s Venture under Super Earth’s control when the time runs out.
