WrestleMania 40 has built one of the greatest clashes in WWE history. The rematch between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, two of the most prolific and entertaining wrestlers in sports entertainment. The stakes got higher for the challenger as Reigns and The Rock defeated Rhodes and Seth Rollins on night 1 of the biggest PPV of the year. The Big Dog, who reigned supreme for 1,316 days, established himself as one of the greatest WWE Champions.
However, this was not enough as he fumbled against The American Nightmare when it mattered the most as he was finally bested by Cody Rhodes, who finally completed his long-awaited story. Everyone was happy as The Natural finally won the much-desired title to complete his dad’s dream, and recently he shared how Reigns and he shared a ‘moment’ after competing in the greatest match of their career.
Cody Rhodes Shared a ‘Moment’ With The Big Dog After Their Greatest WrestleMania Match
WrestleMania 40 brought in a cluster of unexpected events that kept the wrestling fans on their toes. In the intense Bloodline Rules match between Reigns and Rhodes, several big names made surprising appearances. Both John Cena and The Undertaker took to assist Rhodes in cementing himself as the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
In the end, Rhodes stood tall over The Tribal Chief, ending his historic reign and completing his saga, marking a significant milestone in WWE history. Recently, Cody Rhodes was present on the SI Media with Jimmy Traina, where he was asked if Reigns and he shared a backstage “moment.”
Rhodes was full of praises for the former champion as he shared what he felt about Reigns and how he was “nowhere to be found” after his loss.
He said,
“When you do something so special and epic, and I’m especially talking about his run as champion. Not anything I did, when you change the landscape of the company. When you help better the locker room situation for the talent surrounding you. When you bring the entire tide of one company, which Roman did and then you’re part of something like WrestleMania 40.”
“I believe it was his 9th or 10th main event of the WrestleMania, you’re a part of that. In the oddest of ways, we don’t need to have a moment, he was nowhere to be found. I look forward to when we do have a moment when we get to see one another.”
Nevertheless, Rhodes also stated how The Tribal Chief’s run as a champion has been “generational” and he had “changed the industry” which very few people have the opportunity to say. But more importantly, Rhodes is waiting to meet Reigns when he returns.
Fans React To Cody Rhodes’ Comments on Roman Reigns After Their WrestleMania Match
Roman Regins’ journey to stay on top of the table as the Undisputed Universal Champion has been phenomenal as he has defeated the likes of Braun Strowman, Bray Wyatt, Kevin Owens, Brock Lesnar, and many more. However, his loss at the PPV brought an end to his era.
While fans at times, got tired of his reign, they surely showcased immense respect to him, as he gave one of the best performances in his career.
The fans came forward on X as a fan channel shared a clip from the interview on social media, where they acknowledged Reigns as their Tribal Chief.
I would put money on them having a moment backstage after the match, but he can’t admit to such a thing for obvious reasons.

Nevertheless, fans are skeptical of Rhodes as they believe, the two probably had a moment after their WM40 match, but in order to keep Reigns’ character intact as a heel, he refrained from giving much detail about it.
