However, one thing about him that caught a lot of attention was his romantic affair with Miss Americana AKA Taylor Swift. His connection made headlines when the U.K. native was spotted spending a lot of time with the singer.
Later on, the duo officially dated for a while in the summer of 2016 and even got dubbed “HiddleSwift” during their short-lived romance. But unfortunately, within three months of dating, Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift drifted apart and broke off their romance. However, the actor always mentioned having the best time with Swift.

Despite being a private person, Tom Hiddleston made notorious headlines after his romantic association with the renowned singer Taylor Swift. Meeting at the 2016 Met Gala, just a few weeks after Swift’s split from Calvin Harris, Hiddleston made news for having a high-profile relationship.
The pair were first spotted dancing at the Met Gala party, and then within two weeks of her break-up with Harris, Swift was photographed kissing Hiddleston on a beach. These viral photos eventually forced Tom Hiddleston to make his relationship with Taylor Swift, public. However, it was certainly the wrong move.
After having trips to Taylor Swift’s homes in Rhode Island and Nashville and Tom Hiddleston’s native England, the pair unfortunately broke off their romance. Dating for merely three months, the pair called it quits and mentioned how they drifted apart. However, neither of them had bad blood, despite their breakup.
Reason Behind Tom Hiddleston And Taylor Swift’s Breakup
Following their whirlwind romance and unfortunate split within three months of dating, Tom Hiddleston never had any hard feelings for the singer. Always being supportive of her, Hiddleston even mentioned having the best time of his life with Taylor Swift. Calling their break-up amicable, the actor told GQ how “incredible” Swift is.
“Taylor is an amazing woman. She’s generous and kind and lovely, and we had the best time.”
Apparently, it was later revealed that the duo drifted apart because of a bizarre reason. According to sources who confined to US Weekly, Taylor Swift was not happy with the way Tom Hiddleston made their relationship public. The singer was apparently uncomfortable with her romance being public and official so early.
“[Taylor] was the one to put the brakes on the relationship. Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with.”
Eventually, despite their breakup, the duo never had hard feelings for each other. And gradually they both moved on with their life and career. Swift went on to have a long-term relationship with Joe Alwyn, and Hiddleston moved on with Zawe Ashton in 2020.
