Taz Skylar, who plays Sanji in the live-action adaptation of the little indie manga and anime, a little something many might not have stumbled upon called, One Piece, recently shared some exciting news with the fans. After the thunderous success of the first season on Netflix, it was practically written in the stars that a second season was on the horizon.
The October’23 update from the show’s X handle which shared the writer’s room for the second season further excited fans. Now that some time has passed fans have been eagerly waiting for updates.

With the first hitting screens in the latter part of 2023, fans couldn’t help but anticipate the next one stepping on to 2024. Thus while recently promoting his new movie Gassed Up, Skylar shared with Digital Spy,
“I know they’re working on it,– I know we have general dates so as to when we are going back to South Africa, which isn’t too long from now.”
The actor revealed that filming is set to kick off very soon, sending fans into a frenzy. Undoubtedly, the recent Hollywood writers and actors strike threw a bit of a wrench into the production process, causing some delays. Now that it’s all over, it seems like the team is back in full swing. Fans can’t contain their anticipation of reuniting with Luffy and the Straw Hat gang!
Taz Skylar Reveals What the Fans Can Expect from the Second Season of One Piece Live-Action?
Diving deeper into the details of the second season, the actor revealed that the stories to be told in the upcoming season are set to be incredibly exciting. And as far as the cast and crew of the show are concerned, they are thrilled to be returning for another round. As he said,
“I love the way that they’re adapting it, I love what they’re doing with each one of our characters. We all as a cast, as a team, as a crew, we are so excited to get back together, because the first time was such a great experience and we made so many great friends. And we love South Africa, so we all can’t wait to go back there this year and hopefully knock it out of the park again.”
The overall reviews of the show have been surprisingly good. With the initial skepticism about an anime not being animated, many were ready to see the live-action version stumble and fall. But fortunately, everything worked in the show’s favor.
The CGI is fantastic, the fight scenes are well-choreographed, and, most importantly, the seamlessness of it all is commendable. At no point does the live-action element become a weakness, instead, it stands out as its greatest strength. It genuinely looks and feels like an anime. Staying true to the manga, fans have truly appreciated what the first season had to offer.
