Zac Efron Sustained a Major Injury While Filming
Discussing the scene during the press conference, Zac Efron mentioned that the most severe pain he experienced while playing pro wrestler Kevin Von Erich “was probably an ego one.” Reflecting on the particular scene, the actor mentioned feeling embarrassed about coming out in front of a crowd in Speedo or trunks, even if it was just for the sake of the movie.
“It was the very first time that I had to enter the Sportatorium in Kevin’s full costume, which was just, frankly, a Speedo, or trunks. And everybody was out there, there was this huge crowd and the lights were on. I just remember in that moment thinking, how the hell did I end up here? What is going on? This is Magic Mike.”
The roaring crowds and skimpy outfits made him freeze in time and analyze his career choices. This eventually bruised his inflated ego as he compared his scene to the ones in Magic Mike. Thus, he added, “in that moment I was frozen in time just going: This is it. This is the end. How did you get here? What choices have you made?”.
Nonetheless, Writer-director Sean Durkin said, “we just wanted to celebrate you guys’ beautiful thighs”. Well, other actors had different opinions about the challenges and injuries they sustained during the press conference. But wrapping up with this, The Iron Claw turned out to be phenomenal, and people have high hopes for the film.
The Iron Claw is hitting the theatres on 22 December 2023.
