What Can Fans Expect From Dakota Johnson’s Madame Web?

Ahead of Madame Web’s trailer release, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura previously teased fans with the promising origin story of Dakota Johnson’s character. He told Comic Book that the upcoming film will delve into Cassandra Webb’s life and how she came to be the heroine of Marvel Studios and Sony’s next project.

It’s really the story of Madame Web. So, in that respect, if you’re a Spider-Man fan, you’re gonna love the character because you know it from the comic books, which she doesn’t really have that big a character in the comic books, we’re doing the origin story of Madame Web.”

Fans of the Spider-Man comics would absolutely recognize the character despite her small exposure, though the movie will offer something new to the general fans. The producer truly believes they will love Madame Web.

And so, you meet her before she’s actually the person that you know in the comic book, and you come to understand how she becomes that person. So, I think that’ll be a really fresh new terrain for the fans.”

The latest pulse of the crowd seemingly says the opposite, though fans have yet to see the movie in theaters. Johnson shared in an interview with ET Online that she is thrilled to introduce an unknown heroine to the world, as it has always been her dream to star in action films.

I can tell you pretty much nothing that isn’t already on the internet. I’m so excited. It’s pretty cool to be in the Marvel world, especially with a character that’s not so known. So, there’s a lot of space for us to make her very cool. It’s always been a dream of mine to do some kind of, like, massive action movie.”

Dakota Johnson will star as Madame Web alongside Sydney Sweeney as Julia Carpenter. Emma Roberts, Isabela Merced, Celeste O’Connor, Tahar Rahim, Zosia Mamet, Mike Epps, and Adam Scott are also part of the cast.
